Curriculum Overview

In Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 course, your student will adventure through the waters of the Earth as they learn about aquatic animals and their environments. They’ll dive deeper into zoology as they investigate elements of marine life, aqua mobility, filter feeders, currents, fresh water, salt water, the Continental Shelf, and abyssal animals. They’ll also gain a deep understanding of whales, seals and sea cows, aquatic herps, reptiles and amphibians, primeval reptiles, fish anatomy and their stages of life, sharks and rays, crustaceans, trilobites, mollusks, sponges, sea squirts, leeches, flatworms, and much more!

The creatures your student studies will come to life as they create their own “Ocean Box” (a miniature hand-crafted aquarium) with replicas of the sea creatures they study. When your student completes this study of zoology, they will never view the ocean in the same way again.

Points to our Creator

Favorite part is it points to God, our Creator. The journals are an awesome way for our kids to process and show what they are learning and in their own way! It was exciting to learn so many new things.

Future marine biologist

My marine biologist in-the-making begged to do science first today. He’s currently creating a shark to put inside his ocean box of all the models he has made so far this year. I absolutely LOVE how much Elijah loves science. School can be a struggle with him sometimes, but the Apologia curriculum is the one subject he never puts up a fight about. The beauty of homeschool is finding something your child is passionate about and tailoring your learning around it.
